GS1: "No More Physical Checks as of November 15, 2025"
Starting November 15, 2025, an important change will take effect within the GS1 Data Quality Program: the mandatory physical verification of product dimensions and weight will be discontinued.
This means that physical checks will no longer be required — you won’t need to send in your products for logistical verification anymore.
Until that date, the checks will still be mandatory, and products must continue to be physically submitted for inspection.
Logistical data remains mandatory
Although physical checks are being phased out, the obligation to enter logistical data in the GS1 Data Source remains.
This includes information such as product dimensions and gross weight, which continue to be essential for accurate product publication, distribution, and delivery throughout the supply chain.
